Furniture Recycling project looking to expand

We are joining the rest of the nation in celebrating Recycling Week 21. Did you know we offer a Furniture Recycling project, where you can donate items such as white goods, sofas, beds and lots more.

The project has continued to grow and now we need your help. Can you help us? Our Furniture Recycling project is looking to expand its services and needs more warehouse space.

The service is looking for a space that is 3000 to 5000 sq ft with space for loading and unloading a van. To ensure customers can find the space it needs to be close to a main bus route and close to Stockport Town Centre.

But why do they need this extra space? The project is looking to expand its services and offer customers more of a shopping experience. With the extra space, they are also looking to offer sessions such as up cycling to customers.

The project, which is part of Foundations Stockport, the charitable arm of Stockport Homes Groups main mission is to provide furniture to those in need. The team have seen an increase in the number of people needing to access the service.

Roger Phillips, Chair of the Board at Foundations Stockport, said:

“The project has been a huge increase in the number of donations and those in need of affordable furniture over the past few years. This space would allow the team to provide a shopping experience to customers but also put on sessions to help customer become more self- sufficient.”
