The Furniture Recycling team took home the trophy last week, for the Frontline Stars Team award for their dedication and hard work to keep a vital service running by providing furniture to those in need during an uncertain time.
The HQN Frontline Star Awards recognised those frontline workers, volunteers, residents, and members of the housing community who have gone the extra mile during the Covid-19 crisis and made a tangible difference to the lives of others.
The judges for the HQN awards said:
“This was the entry that stood out for me and stuck in my mind”
"This is a great initiative that many others could have easily stopped doing during lockdown, but they carried it on and were a vital lifeline to people”
Roger Phillips, Chair of the Foundation Stockport Board, said:
I am absolutely over the moon that the Furniture Recycling project has won, they have carried on delivering a vital service, meaning vulnerable tenants were still able to start new tenancies during an uncertain time. The whole team should be very proud of themselves.
