Your Local Pantry thanks local businesses for generosity during festive period, helping feed people of Stockport

Posted 15 December 2020

Throughout the year, Your Local Pantry relies on the generosity of local businesses and residents to maintain a continuous service. Now in our busiest time of the year, donations are vital to keep our pantries stocked for Christmas.

Founded by Stockport Homes to fight food poverty, Your Local Pantry, part of Foundations Stockport, departs from the `get-what-your-given` food bank model, allowing users to shop with dignity. With five pantries in Stockport alone, there is always a pantry nearby.

Throughout the festive period so far, YLP have received various donations and acts of kindness from local businesses joining forces to ensure our pantries can provide an essential service during the period. We would like to thank Bamford Doors, AO and Phil Ryan Flooring for their generosity and giving back into the local community.

Roger Phillips, Chair of Foundations Stockport Board said:

Acts of kindness from local businesses during the festive period echo’s the generosity of our local community pulling together when the pantry relies on support the most. When you donate to charity for Christmas, you can help provide opportunities for vulnerable families to thrive during times of need. I would like to pass on my thanks to all the local businesses who have donated so far and echo that it’s not too late to get involved, or to donate to the pantries.

Now Your Local Pantry needs your help to continue supporting the people of Stockport during our busiest time of the year. Find out more by emailing our friendly team at
